About Us
|
We are Christians, disciples of the Lord
Jesus, our beloved Saviour. We call ourselves ‘evangelical’ because
we build our faith
solely on the teaching of the Bible.
We are united together in a local church to worship
God and to help one another. Yet we are not isolated
from the universal church. All who through grace believe
in Christ and follow him are one family, one body, one
temple, for we have one Father, one Lord and one Spirit.
Our church is small but the fellowship is sweet. When
we meet we sing hymns and praises to our Lord, pray, and
listen to reading and preaching of the Word of God.
Every Sunday we celebrate the Lord’s Supper by partaking
of the bread and wine in remembrance
Christ and his sacrifice
for our redemption.
For us the Christian faith does not stop at the doors
of the church but reaches into all aspects of life. We
want to live in the constant and conscious presence of
God, wherever we may be, at home, work or in society.
We endeavour to share the gospel message with our
relatives, friends and all people. We cannot keep to
ourselves the Good News through which we received God’s
love and joy inexpressible. |
Our
Faith
We
gladly affirm with other Christians throughout history
the biblical truths of the ancient creeds (Apostles’,
Nicene, Athanasian), affirming the Trinity and the Deity
of our Lord Jesus. We cherish, defend and proclaim the
gospel message of salvation by grace alone, through
faith alone, in Christ Jesus alone. In regards to the
doctrines of grace and the administration of baptism, we
are Reformed Baptist by conviction and subscribe to the
1689 Baptist Confession of Faith as an accurate
exposition of biblical doctrine.
We confess ...
- The divine inspiration, supreme authority and
sufficiency of the Holy Scriptures, the written Word
of God.
- The Triune God who lives eternally in three
persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
- The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord
Jesus Christ, born of the virgin Mary, truly divine
and truly human, yet without sin.
- The sacrifice of Christ on the cross, dying in
our place to reconcile us with God;
the bodily resurrection of Christ, his
ascension to the Father, and his present reign and
mediation.
- The justification of sinners solely by the grace
of God through faith alone, in Christ alone.
- The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads
us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new
birth, and enables us to live a holy life.
- The spiritual unity of all Christians in the
body of Christ, the church.
- The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ
who will raise all people to judgement, bring
eternal life to the redeemed and eternal
condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven
and new earth. His kingdom will
never end.
